Christmas Fun

Do you know how to say Merry Christmas in other languages?

Today in our Cybersmart lesson we learned how to do a Google voice search to find 5 ways to say Merry Christmas in different languages. We had to put them into a table and make sure we had the language and the translation. Did you know that you can do a Google. search and sometimes you can listen to what it sounds like?

Here is Eleanor's work from today.

Here is some information for you.

We made a poster in Google Drawings about 3 things we can do if we spot phishing or scams.

Real or Fake

Today in our Cybersmart lesson we were looking at images and deciding if they are real or fake.

We created our own fake photo of us doing something impossible at school. We took a photo outside and made it into the background. Then we took a photo of ourselves. We had to think about our pose. We used an online tool called Remove Background so we could put the 2 photos together.

Here is Zoe's image.

Pop Art

This term we are looking at media, what it is, how it is constructed and how we can change media online. We have to ask ourselves when we see things online if we can trust it? And the other question we must ask is "Is it real or fake?"

Today we changed a seflie and made pop art with it.

Here is Cooper's work.

Commenting on Blogs

This week in our Cybersmart lesson we were working on writing blog comments. We were writing positive comments on Room 6 @ St Mary's blog post on their Scratch Jnr projects.

We used the Dictation accessibility function on our Chromebooks. This allows us to speak and Chrome will type our words for us. It made the job a very quick one. This is also called speech-to-text.

We had to remember to say who we were so Room 6 knows where the comment shave come from. We hope they will reply to us.

Here are some of our comments...

Space Race

We have been learning how to use Scratch on our Chromebooks. We have started making a Space Race project. This might take us more than one lesson to do.

Have you used Scratch before? Scratch is an online coding platform where you can create interactive stories, games and animations and share them across the world. We are creating a story about Space because we are studying Space this term.
